Well, not the genesis of the city 😉, but rather the Cegid Connections Retail event in Rome in June 2024. This event is organised by Cegid every two years, and this time took place at the Marriotts Park Hotel. Sales partners and customers from all over the world (+500) as well as partner companies were invited to showcase their solutions at individual stands in this large event foyer. The three-day programme included guided tours, a well-organised schedule of workshops, specialist presentations, keynote speakers, and various award ceremonies, including a scavenger hunt in the City of Rome, a cocktail evening and a dinner gala in the beautiful Villa Piccolini. All this gave this extraordinary event a successful and coherent character.

Furthermore, some nice updates to the solutions on offer were displayed. Cegid will continue to focus on strategic topics such as the cloud (a new POD will be launched in Dubai), Live Store as a strategic front end with numerous connection and integration options, and Gen AI (Generative Artificial Intelligence). Several practical examples were presented, that provided an outlook provided on the functionalities that will soon be available in Gen AI, that includes live translation, automatic account creation and product suggestions.
