In order to fulfil the needs following the expansion of Vapiano, a worldwide unique POS system had to be implemented. The system had to comply with legal requirements in the respective countries and map the special processes of the restaurant business.

Instead of paying the bill each guest was meant to record food and drinks consumed on a chip card and pay at a central cash register upon leaving the restaurant.

Therefore, Vapiano picked the innovative POS register solution Dynamics RMS (Retail Management System by Microsoft), which flexibility fulfilled these requirements. To support the long-lasting cooperation, the system was fully adaptable with unlimited number of modifications made while keeping up to date status.

During the highest expansion phase the system supported over 200 restaurants worldwide with its extremely high efficiency and reliability. The flexibility of RMS enabled Vapiano to continue further expansion in over 30 countries.
